About
Moonlady Designs is the maker of Moonlady Pads reusable cloth menstrual pads, and body care items like face pads and body scrubbers.
Every Moonlady Pad is made by Priscilla in her home. Each pad is carefully crafted, with attention to detail and consideration of a woman’s needs. Our unique designs were created to be comfortable, absorbent, never bulky, and always pretty! Moonlady Pads are made with absorbent cotton terry and super-soft cotton double flannel. They are always topped with cotton double flannel, for total comfort (so comfortable, many women forget they are there!) Polyurethane laminate (PUL) and poly fleece provide leak protection. Our pads are top-stitched for a compact, trim fit, and channel-stitched to direct flow toward the center of the pad. The top-stitching keeps the pad from bunching uncomfortably, and the channel-stitching helps to reduce leaks. We have nine styles of pads and will be adding more as needed! The line is always expanding, and we hope to add body care products in the near future.
At present we keep a selection of pads in-stock, and also take custom orders. In-stock purchases will be shipped within a few days of purchase, and you should receive them within a week. Custom orders are made when you order them, and depending on our workload, can take 2-3 weeks to ship.
Moonlady Designs is the pet project of Priscilla, an artist and crafter living on the Texas Gulf Coast. Priscilla says:
“I became aware of cloth pads in the late 90s. At that time the only way for me to purchase them was via internet or phone, using a credit card. I was very young and had no credit card, no washing machine, and very little money, so I figured that cloth pads were out of my reach. In 2001 I began using a menstrual cup and was very happy with it, but I was always interested in cloth pads. In 2006 my interest was renewed, and I tried a few popular brands of cloth pads, but none of them were exactly what I wanted. At that time, I was learning to sew, so I decided to try making some cloth pads for myself. I put a lot of thought and experimentation into my pads, and I found them to be very comfortable and superior to any pad I had tried. I knew that other women wanted a pad alternative, too, so I began offering my pads for sale. People loved the pads, so I decided to develop this into a real business for myself.”
